Seda Sayan

Seda Sayan (born Aysel Gürsaçar, December 31, 1964) is a Turkish pop folk singer, actress and TV variety-show hostess.[1] She performed in the comedy "Hababam Sınıfı 3,5" in 2006. She now hosts a very popular talk show on channel D in Turkey, which is called "Sabahların Sultanı". The last part of this talk show had been shown under the "Sabah Sabah" title. Seda Sayan is also the chief of "Seda Magazin" which is Turkey's first weekly magazine for women.

She is one of the wealthiest celebrities in Turkey and in the year 2005 she placed 91st on the list of income taxes paid.

She won the best classical singer (female) in 1997.

According to media-monitoring statistics developed by Ajans Press she is the Turkish Media's "Entertainer of the Year", with a record count of 4,307 major media-mentions from January through June 2006.

She had her date of birth changed via a court decision in 1978 to January 4th of 1959 in order to be eligible for performing at a specific venue.[2]

Personal life

Her first marriage was in 1987 with Rıdvan Kılıç, a football player. A few months later she divorced and her second marriage took place in 1990 when she gave birth to her only son, Oğulcan Engin. Sinan Engin, another football player was her second husband. This marriage was her most successful one and lasted for 6 years.

In 1995 she drifted apart from Engin and developed a relationship with singer Mahsun Kırmızıgül which lasted for 3 years.

In 1998 Sayan married a third time, this time with Sonar Yapavik. They were soon divorced. Her 4th marriage took place in 2000 when she tied the knot with Tuncay Kiratli.

In 2003 she married Gökhan Şükür, the brother of famous football player Hakan Şükür. She divorced 11 months later. For a long time she dated Nihat Doğan. In 2008, she married Onur San, a Turkish folk singer, 17 years her junior. They have since separated and she now is single.

In the summer of 2006 she took responsibility for a torture victim named Maryam Sak. While Maryam was being treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Antalya, she was visited by Seda Sayan who offered to move her to Istanbul to live with her. Sayan told the news reporters that she was ready to do anything for Sak to allow her to recover a normal life as soon as possible.
